Type 97 Aircraft Machine Gun
Description
Type 97 Aircraft Machine Gun. All steel rectangular riveted box construction body with a drilled air cooled barrel jacket and a right hand cocking handle. It has been modified for ground use having a crudely made bipod and spade grips with wood handles. A solenoid is fitted to the top of the receiver.
History / Summary
This type of weapon was basically a copy of the Vickers Class E gun and usually fitted in fixed positions in Japanese Navy fighter aircraft. It has been modified for ground use.
