Middle East, 1941. Two official war artists: sculptor Lieutenant (Lt) Lyndon R. Dadswell (left) and painter SX7174 Ivor Henry Thomas Hele. Lt Dadswell, a sculptor, was appointed an Official War Artist on 2 September 1941, having enlisted in 1940. He served with the 2/3rd Battalion in Greece as a private, was promoted to acting corporal and was wounded in action on 22 June 1941. He resigned his commission on 18 December 1942.
