Description

Canvas webbing grenade pouch 235mm wide, and 140mm high. The pouch accomodates four grenades in four separate 50mm diameter compartments. The pouch has a canvas flap, which is secured with two leather tabs with snap fasteners mounted on the two central pouches. Each of the two central pouches mounts two snap closures, (one high and one low) which allowed it to carry either the Type 91 fragmentation grenade or the Type 89 shell. Three leather belt loops are sewn onto the rear surface of the pouch. A leather tab with a rectangular brass hoop is sewn onto the upper rear edge of the pouch between two of the belt loops. A two part webbing strap is attached to the brass loop. A leather tab is sewn onto the end of the strap.

Found inside the pouch were two printed pieces of paper, and a pouch containing spare parts for the grenade launcher. The pouch is of canvas, 95mm wide and 40 mm in height, and is closed with a triangular flap and secured with a 250mm long webbing thong. The spare parts include screws, rings, and toothed sprockets, on which the serial number 691 is stamped. One of the pieces of paper is marked with 'No 10691' and contains a contents list of parts.
