Ground crew of 460 Squadron RAAF relaxing at the base. Identified is 28055 Corporal Harold Wake Andrews reclining at right. Others identified are Cpl Lester John (Les) Mewburn (standing far left) and 404416 AC1 Walter George MacDonald (Wally) Geikie. AC1 Geikie was remustered to air crew and trained as an air gunner. In January 1944, Sergeant Geikie was transferred to 463 Squadron RAAF, and was a crew member aboard Lancaster aircraft serial number LM 223 which was lost on operations over the Netherlands on 23 September 1944.
