Description
Nazi German Women Worker membership badge in the shape of an inverted triangle. Obverse: A pitchfork surmounted by a rounded swastika on a black field with the words 'deutsches frouenwerk' (German women worker) in red at the top. Reverse: 'RZM within a circle, M1/120 and a vertical brooch pin.
History / Summary
Membership badge worn by female volunteer workers during the Nazi period (1936 - 1945) in Germany. This medal is part of a collection of Second World War German orders, decorations, badges and insignia acquired by Flight Lieutenant K G Hesketh, RAAF Historical Records Section, who was based in London, but who made a number of visits to Germany immediately after the Second World War.
