Volkssturm VG1 Rifle
Description
Volkssturm VG1 bolt action rifle. Action stamped qve VG1 and the serial number. The stock is laminated beech with a slot cut through the butt for a sling and has no markings. The rifle is complete with a front sight protector and a ten shot magazine from a Kar 43 rifle marked aye (Olympia Buromaschinenwerke AG, Erfurt). The bolt with a straight cocking lever has a matching serial number to the action.
History / Summary
This rifle is crudely made and designed for issue to the Volkssturm (Home Guard) as a last resort for the defence of Germany in 1945.
