Description

Russian Pattern 1881 Cossack Trooper's sword and scabbard. The hilt has a brass ferrule, stamped O 42 and a pommel in the shape of a birds beak with a hole for a wrist strap and is engraved with CCCP over a star over a hammer and sickle. The wooden grips have diagonal grooves. The curved blade has a wide fuller to each side to within 140 mm of the double edged point. The ricasso is stamped on the left with a hammer and sickle arsenal mark and 1930. The right side is marked T 150. The black leather scabbard has a nickel plated chape and locket with a slot for a belt strap. It has three other nickel steel bands; the centre one with a loose ring for the second belt strap and the other two with slots at the front that take a Moisin Nagant rifle socket bayonet. The bayonet RELAWM02116 is not attached.
