Description
Indian army groundsheet on which is drawn examples of Middle Eastern architecture.
History / Summary
The drawings were done by Trooper Killworth of the 9th Division cavalry whilst he recovering in the 8th British General Hospital, Alexandria in 1942. This item is significant on a number of levels: as items of artistic merit, in terms of the convalescent circumstances in which they were drawn, and in terms of the item (an Indian army groundsheet) on which they were drawn.
