RGD 33 Stick Hand Grenade
Description
The Stick grenade consists of a hollow wooden handle attached to a thin sheet metal head that contains the high explosive bursting charge. The grenade uses friction ignition using a cord that runs from the head through the hollow handle and out the bottom. A porcelain bead keeps the ignition cord in place behind a metal cap. There are no external markings.
History / Summary
The Chinese stick grenade is based on the Russian RGD 33 stick grenade and was standard issue to Chinese and North Korean forces during the Korean War.
