Seamans' fall front trousers : Kaiserliche Marine
Description
German Navy seaman's blue wool superfine fall front trousers (blaue marine-klapphose). The fall front panel is retained by four black metal buttons that are impressed with 'CLEO', and there was a pair to secure the waistband in the middle at the front but one is missing. A pocket with a vertical slit opening has been let into the panels in front of both of the side seams. The fall front panel overlies the two panels with the pockets in them, but the pockets can be accessed at the side of the fall front panel. The lacing is missing from the V-shaped gusset in the centre back waist.
