Admiral Tojo
Description
Porcelain statue of Admiral Tojo which served as the 1941 Navy exam prize in Japan. Hideki Tojo (1884-1948) was the Japanese Prime Minister during the Second World War. He became Prime Minister in 1941 and within two months ordered a surprise attack on US Naval forces in Hawaii. He served as the political and military leader of Japan until 1944. After the war ended, the Allies found Tojo guilty of war crimes and hanged him.
