Autographed good luck flag carried by Japanese soldier Sato Kanichiro
Description
Japanese soldier's autographed national flag with signatures and a single slogan, the traditional wish for long-lasting good fortune in war, in black ink characters. Writing on the flag indicates that it was presented to Sato Kanichiro by the Youth Organisation at Hasunama-cho. Most of the signatures on the flag are by men but a few are female including one written by Sato's mother or sister.
