Description
Pattern 07 Bayonet & Scabbard. The blade is stamped MA 07 with 8 43 and the pommel D/99262. Wood grips marked SLAZ 52 are secured by two steel screw bolts. The steel mounted brown leather scabbard is marked 1918 and has a button shape frog stud on the locket which is marked R and arrow head. Overall parkerised finish.
History / Summary
This bayonet was originally manufactured in March 1943 and was the standard issue to the Australian Army for the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield rifle between 1907 and 1959. It has been refurbished with new grips and a reconstructed scabbard.
