155 mm Howitzer Sight Bracket (Italy)
Description
Steel sight bracket 380mm in length. The lower 150mm is fashioned in a curve, with the upper sight element designed to move through a rack and pinion adjustment mechanism. No 1011 - 1012 stamped on the side of the device. 1007 stamped into a brass thumb wheel on the upper part of the bracket. '18999' and '37' stamped into the extreme end.
History / Summary
This bracket fitted onto the left hand side of an italian 155mm howitzer, and would have held a panoramic sight. The sight would have been used for indirect fire.
