Description
Base Plate for 81 mm Brandt Mortar mle 27/31. The base plate is made from ordnance steel and is painted matt grey. The base plate is rectangular in shape and features steel studs for anchoring in soil. There is a fold down carry handle attached to the rear of the base plate.
History / Summary
Stokes Brandt mortar baseplate used by Vichy French and German forces during the Second World War. This barrel was collected at Tobruk in March 1942.
