Description
Sterling silver trophy with octagonal base and body. A slim pillar supports the body which has two curved handles on either side which flatten out at the top. The body of the trophy has a lid and the octagonal panels on both are curved. The top of the lid has a small round knob. The front of the body is engraved ' 5TH AUSTRALIAN DIVISION Final Football Contests AUSTRALIAN GAME Won by 15TH AUSTRALIAN INFANTRY BRIGADE FRANCE 1918 Presented by AUSTRALIAN Y.M.C.A.'. There are silver hallmarks on the body and on the lid.
History / Summary
This trophy was won by 15 Infantry Brigade at Doudeauville, France in January 1918. It was presented by the Australian branch of the Young Men's Christian Association at the football finals series held by 5 Australian Division.
