Transfer by bosun's chair
Description
This painting depicts an occurrence common at sea in the transfer of personnel from ship to ship. This particular instance took place in the refuelling area of the British Pacific Fleet, off the coast of Japan. The officer is being passed to the Australian destroyer HMAS 'Nepal', using a bosun's chair to transfer personnel from one ship to another while at sea.
