Description
Kaiser Wilhelm II Memorial Church, Kurfurstendamm, Berlin was damaged in air raids on the night of the 23rd November 1943. The church was in the neo-romanesque style and had been built under the Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm II in memory of his Grandfather, Kaiser Wilhelm I to the architectural design of Franz Schwechten. The spire was 113 metres high and the nave could seat over 2,000 people. The ruins of this church have been preserved to memorialize the destruction and horror of the Second World War.
