Description
RAAF Kittyhawks bombing Japanese positions. No.76 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) fighter bombers were the first aircraft to operate from Monote airstrip, which was captured from the Japanese two days before. Ground crews watch pilots bombing from their camp, which was less than a qurarter of a mile away from targets on Los Negros Island. The camp site was the front line two days before, Admiralty Island.
