Changing engines, 3 Squadron
Description
At a desert advanced landing ground close to the dividing wire, between Egypt and Libya, riggers of 3 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, prepare to install a new engine in a Tomahawk. A mobile crane is about to lift the tail of the plane which will then be supported on oil drums making the plane horizontal and in rigging position. Dust and sand make this work difficult. The new Allison engine is in the centre of the sketch.
