The raw camp - II - Outside the men's kitchens
Description
On the left is the pantry, where stocks are kept and food is prepared behind fly-proof screening. The cooks are watching the sawyers where the water is boiled and other cooking done. Beyond, the water cart is filling up the tanks, whilst men draw water from the taps at the far end. Behind the truck a Wiles Cooker (a mobile kitchen on wheels) is visible, and in the foreground the cook's washing is boiling in kerosene tins.
