Jungle Light Aid Detachment
Description
241 Light Aid Detachment (LAD), attached to 7th Australian Infantry Brigade show the workings of a typical LAD unit . The LAD units were responsible for the repair and maintenance of the regiment's vehicles and equipment. Here, a large tent fly covers the main benches where a variety of mechanical work is in hand. Men are at work on jeeps and a 3-ton truck. On the right, 2-pounder tank-attack guns are being serviced. A characteristic collection of palms, trees and creepers surround the area.
