Wing Commander John Lerew
Description
Wing Commander John Margrave Lerew, DFC, RAAF, was well known as the Commanding Officer at Rabaul at the time of the Japanese advance and invasion of that base. This sketch was made in December 1943 when, as the Commanding Officer of No.1 Aircraft Depot, Laverton, Victoria, he flew a Beaufort up to Tocumwal.
