Description
Portrait of Corporal E H Adams, 1 Australian Water Transport Group, wearing a beret with a colour patch sewn to it. The 1st Australian Water Transport Unit was involved in providing water supplies to areas in the Pacific Islands, such as New Guinea, during the Second World War. The berets which the personnel wore earned them the nickname 'sailors with slouch hats'
