Staging camp at Scott's Creek
Description
A scene depicting Scott's Creek (left) with a bridge crossing over it, and a staging camp on Bogadjim Road (right), New Guinea. A figure can be seen in the middle ground, pushing a wheelbarrow along, and tents line the road in the background.
Sergeant Belcher, Royal Australian Army Medical Corps attached to Royal Australian Engineers, was able to obtain leave from his unit and moved between the Ramu Valley and the coast along to Yaula and Mindjim Rivers towards Bogadjim, sketching and recording something of the area's activities during the Second World War.
