Skeleton of a 'Fairmile'
Description
Prefabricated bulkheads and partially built hull of Fairmile motor torpedo boat at Halvorsen's Yard, River, Ryde (to be used by RAAF for air-sea rescue) In the background is the ribbed hull of a Fairmile. Her sides will be sheathed in a waterproof plywood skin. All the craft are of timber construction and range from Fairmile motor launches to fast supply boats and search and rescue launches for the RAAF.
