Attack by 2/24th Battalion, El Alamein at night, 25-26 October 1942
Description
Attack on Fig Orchard, El Alamein campaign, Egypt 1942. 'C' Company of the 2/24th Battalion is seen under fire on its start line prior to the attack, with the 2/48th Battalion holding Trig 29 at left of the painting. Former officers 'Ted' (EP), Harty (OC 'C' Company) and Bill Mollard (OC 'A' Company) collaborated with the artist in preparing the original sketch and checking it for military accuracy.
