Blown bridge over Aliakmon River
Description
The southern buttress of the bridge can be seen in the centre. All three spans of the bridge were dropped into the river when it was blown. The charges were laid by Lance Corporal J.R. Buckingham of 2/1st Field Company, Royal Australian Engineers, assisted by sappers of 580th Army Troops Company, Royal Engineers. Buckingham fired the charges, Greece.
