Peace in our time
Description
A statue of Peace with a dove in her right hand presides over a scene of disorder with scenes of armed robbery, people quarelling, drinking and generally lawless behaviour. A newly returned serviceman looks at the scene in bewilderment. The artist, Donald Friend served in the army before being appointed an official war artist in 1945.
