Carrying Corporal Buckingham for burial
Description
Hele depicts a burial cortege, featuring three soldiers carrying the WX14133 Acting Corporal (ACpl) Donald Jack Buckingham, killed in action on 20 July 1943. Cpl Buckingham was first buried at Timbered Knoll, his body was then exhumed from Salamanua War Cemetery and then his final burial was in Lae War Cemetry QD3, Lae on 18th January 1946.
