Study for 'Centurion tank'
Description
An armoured vehicle, a Centurion tank, possibly of the Royal Armoured Corps, British Commonwealth Forces, travelling over a war damaged landscape in the Jamestown Line Area, Korea. Australian soldiers surround the tank. Hele's inscription on the work is: 'Centurion on Kidney Feature Southeast of 355'. 355 refers to Hill 355. Hill 355 was a critical part of the Australian defence line from late 1951 to the end of the war in Juoy 1953. The 'Kidney Feature' was a smaller hill near 355 that straddled the road.
