Description
Depicts five soldiers outside of the town of Mughar, Palestine. Three of the soldiers in the foreground are standing under pencil pines sketching, while two in he middle ground are simply looking. The scene is situated near an orange grove. Within his Syria Campaign series, Herbert produced a sub-group of military camps. The campaign involved Australian troops, mostly from the 7th Division, fighting alongside allied troops against the Vichy French in Syria and Lebanon.
