Recreation in the forward hold of USS Jefferson Davis
Description
7th Australian Division troops aboard USS Jefferson Davis, en route from the Australian journey to Balikpapan for the amphibious assault landing operation Oboe 2'. Troops were crammed onto all manner of ships making their own amusement to pass away the monotony of the two or three weeks at sea in uncomfortable conditions. In this picture troops can be seen playing cards in the for'ard hold of this Liberty ship.
