Back entrance Henecourt Chateaux
Description
Depticts the back entrance to Henecourt Chateaux, one of the Headquarters for the 1st Australian Division during the First World War. The artist, Lieutenant Colonel Jeremy Taylor Marsh, was part of the Divisional Train with the 1st Australian Division. He landed on 25 April 1915 at Gallipoli and went onto to serve in Egypt and France until he was discharged in 1919. He was appointed a Companion Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) from King George V in 1916.
