Turkish trench mortar captured at Lone Pine
Description
This pencil sketch of a Turkish trench mortar in use in the battle at Lone Pine, Gallipoli peninsula. The Mortar consisting of empty schrapnel case mounted on a stock to which it was secured by two metal bands. This drawing is undated but the artists' inscription indicates that the sketch was made during the Lone Pine attack in August 1915.
