Sergeant R.D. Fraser, Mounted Rifles
Description
'Sergeant Fraser' was one of a suite of full length portraits which Roberts painted on small wooden panels in the 1890s. The subject for this work was Robert Donald Fraser who was a volunteer in the New South Wales Mounted Rifles. He is pictured wearing a slouch hat with a plume of rooster feathers, a khaki tunic, breeches, leggings, boots and spurs, and carrying a Martini Henry 1875 model single shot rifle.
