Occupational therapy, Melbourne
Description
Depicts two soldiers weaving on a loom as part of their occupational therapy at a hospital in Melbourne. Private Herman Edward Praetorius, VX51050, wearing trousers of hospital blue and jersey. The weaving on this loom, and by using boat shaped shuttles, gives active movement of arms, wrist and fingers which facilitates the recovery of the patient. Standing on the right is Private Frederick John Waite, VX47353, wearing khaki because he is in the convalescent ward.
