Description
Portrait depicting medical officer Major Douglas William (Dougal) MacPherson, WX3357, Australian Army Medical Corps. Major MacPherson served in Greece as a medical officer with 2/5 Australian Infantry Battalion in 1941and continued with the battalion through Syria, Ceylon, and New Guinea. Private MacPherson also served with the 2/7 Field Ambulance in Tobruk, and at the end of the war was the Assistant Director of Medical Services in the 6th Division. Following the war Dr MacPherson practised at Collie and Perth in Western Australia.
