The Tail Gunner
Description
External view of tail gunner in rear turret of Handley Page Halifax bomber. This is a Boulton Paul Type E turret with four 0.303 inch machine guns. This work is part of a series by Adams that explores the bomber crew and the technology they used. In this painting the tail gunner appears isolated and alert as he looks out into the dark sky.
