Victory parade
Description
Colahan depicts troops from the 2nd Australian Imperial Force, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Airforce marching past the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London, as part of victory celebrations in 1946. St Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey can be seen in the background.
Artists Colin Colahan, Stella Bowen and Geoffrey Mainwairing were all commissioned by the Australian War Memorial to make paintings fo the victory celebrations in London in 1946.
