Description
No. 1 Forge (Commonwealth Ordnance Factory, Maribyrnong). Ordnance workshop, forge, civilians, technology, tools and machines, unidentified men in forging team. 1500 tons hydraulic press, porter bar, travelling crane, suspension chain, steam boilers. The personnel comprising the forge:- forger, forger's assistant, forger's underhand, press operator, crane driver. Each of these men are highly skilled in their particular jobs. Coupled with these men are five furnacemen, a coal wheeler and two boiler attendants.
