A group of soldiers at their camp on Casey's Knoll, Port Moresby, New Guinea, on a misty evening in May 1944. Dargie noted, "In these high regions of the Finisterres, the mists come up at morning and evening. It was through one of these dense mists that I saw some of the 2/12 Australian Infantry Battalion coming up the hill from Deserted Village, each man exhausted and muddy after the long climb. Men of the 2/10 Australian Infantry Battalion can be seen digging on the edge of a slope. There is a tent, a camp fire and washing hung on the line. They are digging a latrine and a refuse pit; on the left the cook gathers wood for a fire".
