Lockheed Hudson Bomber of No 6 Squadron scoring direct hit on Japanese Seaplane Tender
Description
The pilot of the pictured aircraft was "Gogs" Manning of No 6 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force. The ship was again hit by the following plane and finally burned out and sank. 6 Squadron's score at this date exclusive of the Seaplane Tender: one destroyer, one submarine off Sydney, one wireless ship; also, general reconnaissance, dropping of supplies, rescue work, bombing of sea and land targets by day and night. Air crew personnel were composed of pilots who had experience in many of theatres of war.
