Mosquito colony (Lieutenant Thomas Lemerle)
Description
The interior of a purpose built laboratory at the Land Headquarters Medical Research Unit in Cairns. Seated is NX99874 Lieutenant Thomas Hodges Lemerle, AAMC, Assistant Entomologist who is feeding the mosquito pupae. A laboratory assistant, V377957 Private Hans 'Jack' Mannheim, stands next to the adult breeding cage in which we are able to see the hanging slices of apple used to feed the adult mosquitoes.
