The Sphinx, from Suvla side, grey day
Description
A view of The Sphinx, as seen from the northern side. George Lambert accompanied the Australian Historical Mission to Gallipoli in 1919. He wrote on 16 February 1919: "I did a sketch of the 'Sphinx' from near the landing, but a very dull afternoon flattened the interesting modelling clean out and left little else than a fine sky-line and flat tone against a grey sky."
