Saturday forenoon, HMAS Warramunga
Description
Norton's Korean watercolours provide insights into life in the Royal Australian Navy. He recorded aspects of the routine on board the ships he sailed with. Routine was important for the smooth running of Naval ships and would have dictated the day to day work of the crew of the HMAS Warramunga (I). Here Norton has depicted the crew undertaking 'Saturday forenoon' duties cleaning the decks. In the background are the Royal Navy's frigate HMS Mount's Bay at anchor, USS LMSR401, and the tug Sarsi off Sok To Island in the Yellow Sea, Korea.
