Cookhouse, Stalag Luft III, Germany
Description
A black and white study of the grounds of Stalag Luft II with the 'cookhouse' in the midground, and with several drums or barrels in front of it. In the foreground is a basketball backing board, the inclusion of which followed the influx of American POWs into the camp. Another, similar view of this area of the camp was completed by Taylor in watercolours; 'Stalag Luft III prison camp, Germany' (ART92899).
