Description
In the ruins of a village, a young boy explains to two soldiers: 'There was a grenade in her doll'. The girl lies dead, with her face on the ground. Coutin 1986 (25); Coutin 1987 (124D) This work was not published, but was intended for publication in 'Figaro', March 1917. There is a drawing of this subject in a private collection (124B0. It was included in 'De la Marne au Rhin II, p. 20 (124E).
