L'ecole des neutres (The neutrals' lesson)
Description
Bodies of civilians washed up on a shore; a wrecked ship in the distance. The submarine war took many civilian and military victims. Coutin 1987 (12D). This work was published in 'L'Opinion', 13 February 1915, pp. 104-5 (12A). There is a drawing of this subject in a private collection (12B) and several small stsudies in the artist's sketch book (12C). It was included in 'De la Marne au Rhin' I, p. 11 (12E).
