Gallipoli 10th May 'Carodoc' with the 'Duke of Cambridge'
Description
Sailing vessels in foreground including the Carodoc and the steam ship Duke of Cambridge, with a landmass in distance. This drawing is one of 26 illustrations by Mrs Marianne Young (also known as Marianne Postans) prepared for her book 'Our Camp in Turkey, and the way to it', published by Richard Bentley, London 1854. Due to the outbreak of the Crimean War they were not included in the original publication.
